Because it should exist.
My name is Zachary — though somewhere along the way, Morton stuck. Its a middle name, technically, but ‘Zachary Made It’ didn’t have quite the same ring to it. Morton stayed. The things I make stayed with it.
I’m a video and photo editor by trade, which might make you wonder how I ended up selling text editors and fiction novels. The honest answer is: I get ideas, I get restless, and I’m apparently incapable of leaving a good idea alone until it exists in the world.
That’s the whole business model, really.
Morton Made It started as a personal answer to a very specific frustration — the kind where you think someone should really make that, wait for someone else to do it, and eventually realise with mild horror that you are the someone. So here we are.
What you’ll find here is an eclectic mix: creative software built to make writing more interesting, books written to be genuinely worth your time, and a photo restoration service that I’m quietly very proud of. The thread connecting all of it is that each thing was made because it felt like it was missing from the world. That I thought it should exist.
If something here catches your eye — or if you have a photograph that deserves better than the shoe-box it’s currently living in — I’d love to hear from you.
